Description
This Quinta do Pégo Vinhas Velhas 2015 is produced by the South African winemaker Wouter Pienaar.
Fermentation was done in the traditional Portuguese method of trampling the grapes by foot in “lagars” to ensure good colour extraction and soft tannins.
The wine was matured in new French oak barrels for 15 months.
This wine has attractive deep red colour, layers of fruit berry flavours and well integrated wood overtones to add to a complexity that will ensure good maturation potential.
At this stage, the wine is showing great elegance and freshness.
Quinta do Pégo Vinhas Velhas is produced in very limited quantity.
As the wine is only lightly filtered, deposit might occur and therefore decanting is recommended.
