This port has been produced by Rozès’ Wine Maker Manuel Henrique and consultant Wouter Pienaar. The grapes for the port (70% Touriga Nacional, 20% Touriga Franca and 10% Tinta Cão) come from the old vines, which were on the Quinta’s vineyards, when the present owners took over the Quinta.
It is a wonderful Vintage port of the finest quality. A warm and sunny summer has resulted in perfectly ripened grapes and a powerful and concentrated Port. It has a beautiful and intense ruby-red colour, delicate bouquet of dried fruits, plums and a touch of wild flowers, elegant, full-bodied and well-balanced taste as well as soft tannins and a lingering and very pleasant aftertaste.
This port ought to be served chilled and is perfect as an ”after-dinner-drink” or together with strong cheese, chocolate and dessers, but it is also perfect on its own.
Quinta do Pégo Vintage Port 2006 has been bottled in 15.000 bottles of 75 cl.
