This port has been produced by Rozès’ Wine Maker Manuel Henrique and consultant Wouter Pienaar. The grapes for the port come from the old vines, which were on the Quinta’s vineyards, when the present owners took over the Quinta.
It has been matured for 20 months, partly in oak casks, partly in stainless steel vats.
It is a wonderful Vintage port of the finest quality. A warm and sunny summer has resulted in perfectly ripened grapes and a powerful and concentrated Port. It has a beautiful and intense ruby-red colour, delicate bouquet of black berries, elegant, full-bodied and well-balanced taste as well as a lingering and very pleasant aftertaste.
Quinta do Pégo Vintage 2003 has been bottled in 15.000 bottles of 75 cl. and 600 bottles of 150 cl.
