Quinta do Pégo Grande Reserva 2010 is the result of a careful selection of wines of the 2010 harvest, produced from the main red varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão, grown at Quinta do Pégo, situated on the left bank of the Douro river in the Douro valley.
The wine is produced by Wouter Pienaar.
60% of this elegant wine has been matured in French oak casks for approximately 12 months and 40% in stainless steel tanks with a light filtration before bottling.
This wine has an intense ruby colour, layers of rich fruit and berries such as blackberries, cherries and pepper. The oak is already well-integrated and combined with a strong tannin structure will ensure good maturation potential and freshness.
This unique and well structured wine is especially suitable with red meats, game and cheese.
This is indeed an extraordinairy red wine, which will improve with bottle ageing and has a good maturation potential.
